For what it's worth -- Classic Heartland has now been purged off of two sweepstakes sites, one a week or two ago and another one just yesterday. In the latest case, the statement was something like "they may be reinstated if any of their information can be verified." Little things, like oddly repetitive winners' lists, or the occasional prize being posted which is no longer being manufactured (xBox Elite stopped being available how long ago??), etc... There IS no "radio station" linked to them anymore, and in fact pretty much ALL their site links go nowhere except to their sweeps page.
It IS your choice to enter their sweeps. It might be informative to make use of the gmail "tagging" ability, where you can attach personally-meaningful string sequences to an email address, embedding them into the address. It doesn't interfere with message delivery, but DOES become quite revealing when you suddenly realize "I used this email address over HERE, and now I'm getting spam from over THERE with the same address tags..." Hmm.
Hello Dan and thank you for the information on Classic Heartland. I had not heard of them being purged off other sites yet but I'm searching for the info as we speak.
Great idea about the gmail "tagging" but it might be wise to not enter the contest/sweepstakes at all, if this is the nonsense they are going to pull. As I find out more they might find themselves purged from Sweepstakes Hunter also.
