New Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes Offers $5,000 Every Week for Life

Unexpected company is usually a nuisance. Whether it's intrusive neighbors come to borrow a cup of flour, or obnoxious in-laws come to occupy your home for a week, rarely is there a time when the doorbell rings and it's good news.

Unless it's Publishers Clearing House ringing your bell.

Founded in 1953, Publishers Clearing House started as a magazine subscription sales company, owned and operated by Harold Mertz and his family. Starting in 1963 the company launched a sweepstakes series that has survived them to the present and now includes coverage by the Prize Patrol.

And now Publishers Clearing House has a new sweepstakes, providing new hope for all of us looking to catch a break and make it big. The newest promotion is PCH's "Win $5,000 Every Week for Life" sweepstakes, which (as you probably guessed from the name) offers to pay the lucky winner $5,000 every week for life (or at least until they reach $1 million).

Entry is simple. Visit PCH's website, and follow the instructions. Essentially, all you have to do is fill out a form (shown below) and click "Continue." You'll be pressured to purchase a magazine subscription — that's how they make their money, after all — but no purchase is necessary to win.

As the sweepstakes rules will tell you, you can only submit one entry per day per email address, but you can mail in as many entries as you like — as long as each submission is mailed separately. However you enter, you've got to do it before 5/21/12, which is when entry closes.

Winning the sweepstakes would certainly be life-changing, but don't get your hopes too high — the estimated odds of winning are one in 1.75 billion against. Still, you want win if you don't try. For more info about the sweepstakes, check out the website, and the table below. Good luck!
